District 2 LL All-Star results

— West Middlesex and Greenville will clash for the District 2 Little League All-Star Major Division (11-12) Championship 8 p.m. today at West Middlesex field.
The title tilt was set up when West Middlesex beat Greenville, 7-1, Wednesday in Greenville. Christian Porterfield allowed only 1 hit in going all 6 innings for West Middlesex, whiffing 4 and walking 1. Pacing the winners at the plate were Porterfield, Vince DeStefano and Aaron Webb with homers; Sage Pope a double; and Clay Allen and Marky Colella singles.
Lucas Houpt and Matt Jones pitched for Greenville. Houpt had the lone hit.
The D-2 Little League All-Star tournament play continues in other divisions as well. Following are results that were recently submitted to The Herald:
SENIOR DIVISION (15-16)
ä West Middlesex 10, Lakeview 3 — In the opening game of a best-of-3 series between the lone 2 entries, the winners scored 9 fourth-inning runs and never looked back.
Markus Murray and D.J. Markle pitched for the winners, who were led at the plate by Brandon Kirk and Murray, doubles, and Colby Howe, 2 singles.
Michael Brown, Dalton Pence, Cody Miller and Kyle Scott pitched for Lakeview.
The two teams were scheduled to play again Thursday night.
SENIOR DIVISION (13-14)
ä Sharon 14, West Middlesex 4 (5 inn.) — Sharon scored 8 fifth-inning runs to end the contest.
Tyler Little went the distance on the mound for the winners, who were led at the plate by: Josh Nichols and Steve Wareham, doubles; Justin Stefanowicz and Nick Carlo, 2 hits each; Little, Jimmy Anderson, Gino Merolillo, Adam Cain, Nick Gadola and Matt Kelly, singles.
Collin Patton and Jared McFarland pitched for West Middlesex, while Kyle Kite rapped a double, Jamie Gearhart had 2 singles and McFarland, Dave Devlin and Patton 1 hit each.
ä Mercer 12, Greenville 11 — The game ended on a controversial note. Greenville mounted a comeback in the top of the 7th and had 2 men on base when the game was called because of darkness.
Aaron Collins, Donny Miller and Brandon Buchanan each pitched for the winners, who were led at the plate by: Collins’ double; Joel Solomon’s 3 singles; and Miller, Graydon Emhoff, Christian Culligan, Braden Little, R.J. Swartz and Buchanan, who chipped in singles.
Chad Ferguson, Daniel Addison and Braden Gladysz took the mound for Greenville, which was led on offense by Ryan Polkabla, 3 singles; Addison, Caleb Dangrow, Jarid Manning, Gladysz and Jason Forbes, 2 singles each, and Jason Irwin and Garrett Fisher, singles.
MAJOR DIVISION (11)
ä West Middlesex 15, Greenville 0 (4 inn.) — Trey Staunch went the distance for the mound win in the abbreviated, pitching a no-hitter, fanning 10 and walking 1. Leading hitters were: Mike Bacchetti, grand slam; Staunch and Mike Gladysz, homers; Andrew Long, 2 doubles and 2 singles; Riley Atterholt, 2 singles, and Brandon Dick, Jared Horens, Mike Cominos and Adam Hubert, singles.
Johnson and Emmett pitched for Greenville.
MINOR DIVISION (9-10)
ä West Middlesex 20, Grove City 2 (4 inn.) — The winners scored 11 opening-inning runs.
Ryan Dogan, Nate Patten, A.J. Allen and Gavin Kroesan pitched for the winners in a no-hit effort. Middlesex was paced at the plate by: Tanner Powell, double, Dogan, 2 singles, and Kroesan, Josh Porterfield, Patten, Noah Bender and Mitchell Murray, singles.
Brendan Record, Jordan Anderson, Seth Uber, Tucker McBride, Brandon Grace and Brandon Dennis each toed the rubber for Grove City.
SHARON FARM (9-10)
Playoffs
ä Quaker Steak & Lube 13, Elks 12 — The Lube rallied from a 9-5 fourth-inning deficit to advance to the championship series.
Andrew Tomko tattooed 4 hits including a double and was credited with the mound win by fanning 5 in 2 innings. Also, Jules Hicklin and Sevon Howell had 2-inning stints on the hill, with Hicklin striking out 6. Howell hammered a single and double, Hicklin a single and triple, and Zac Meszaros and Jonathan Williams contributed 2 and 1 hit, respectively.
Marquez Phillips and Aaron Nichols split the Elks’ mound duties, with Phillips fanning 6 in 3 innings. He also hammered a homer, double and single, while McCullough singled twice and doubled, Tucker Winner and Noah Nichols both singled twice, and Chris Rio and Aaron Nichols chipped in base hits.
