SOFTBALL
ä West Middlesex 4, Slippery Rock 3 — At West Middlesex, Kori Aubel ripped an RBI single scoring Mandi Kedrick in the bottom of the 7th inning as the Ms. Reds (15-3) edged the Lady Rockets.
Aubel went 3-for-4 with 2 singles and a double, Kedrick singled and doubled, Carrie Young singled, tripled and scored and Bobbi Frazzini ripped an RBI double and scored.
Heather Michaels went the distance for WM. She struck out 3, issued no walks and allowed 6 hits.
Morgan Robinson tossed 6-plus innings for SR. She fanned 7, walked 3 and gave up 4 runs on 10 hits.
Robinson led the Lady Rockets at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a single, a double and a run scored.
ä Mercer 5, Sharpsville 2 — At Brandy Springs Park, Cassie Lipinski fired a complete-game 4-hitter as the Lady M’s (5-12) defeated the Blue Darlings.
Lipinski fanned 1 and walked 2.
Brianna Flynn struck out 4, walked 3 and gave up 4 hits for Sharpsville.
Brandie Hillmar, Sam Acker and Nicole Bertolasio all scored on errors for Mercer. Jess Trott and Cassie Flannery scored on a hit by Danielle Nespor and a sacrifice fly by Bertolasio.
Mikey Lukasko doubled for Sharpsville.
BASEBALL
ä Kennedy Catholic 6, Mercer 2 — At Hermitage, Evan Mihlo twirled a 3-hitter as KC (7-5, 7-6) topped the Mustangs.
At the plate for KC, Nick Cianci tripled and singled, Mihlo doubled and Chris Baker and Jake Yatsko had 2 singles each.
Brent Messett, Cody Frey, Herbie Hennegan and Matt Cameron shared mound duties for Mercer.
