County track invite Saturday



Fifteen local schools and more than 500 athletes will compete Saturday in the Mercer County Track and Field Invitational at Hickory High stadium.

The event, which opens at 9 a.m., is geared to allow athletes to tune up for the upcoming District 10 meet at Hickory or to have a chance to earn D-10 qualifying times or distances.

No team scores are kept, but awards go to the top 8 in each event.
