BOYS TRACK & FIELD

ä Wilmington 94, West Middlesex 56 — At West Middlesex, a pair of unbeatens clashed in the regular-season finalé for both, and the Greyhounds topped the Big Reds (10-1) en route to the Region 1 crown.

Luke Yohman led Wilmington by winning the 110 (16.70) and 300 hurdles (42.10) and running the lead leg on both the 400- (47.10) and 1600-meter (3:32.80) relays.

Mike Ryan (3200 and 3200 relay leg) and Matt Lawhead (800 and 1600) led West Middlesex.

ä Hickory 103, Sharon 47 — At Hornet Stadium, Hermitage, the Hornets stung Sharon, led by distance aces Mike Boardman (1600-meter run, mile-relay leg) and John Fischer (3200-meter run, 4x8 leg) and thrower Bob Saltsgiver (shot, disc).

Jacques Moss (triple jump, 400-meter dash) was Sharon’s lone double-winner.

ä Sharpsville 122, Farrell 16; Sharpsville 92, Kennedy Catholic 48 — At Sharpsville, Bill Marstellar and DaMarco Alberty led the Blue Devils past KC and the Steelers.

Marstellar won the 400 (56.15), pole vault (10-0) and was part of the winning 1600 relay team (4:02). Alberty copped the 100 (11.18) and 200 (24.92) and was part of the 400 relay squad that clocked in at 47.98.

Jones led Farrell by winning the long (15-11 3/4) and triple (34-6 3/4) jumps.

KC’s Chris Staten and Ben Goclano were double-event winners. Staten copped the shot (46-7) and discus (133-1 1/2) while Goclano placed 1st in the long (16-10 1/2) and triple (36-0) jumps.

ä Slippery Rock 85, Grove City 65 — At Slippery Rock, the host Rockets’ rout was fueled by Ian Campbell (100, triple and high jumps), Jack Cravener (400-meter dash, mile-relay leg), and Ethan Geisler (high, intermediate hurdles, distance-relay leg). Campbell high-jumped 6-4 and triple-jumped 41-6 1/4.

For Grove City, Dustin Spencer (200-meter dash, long jump) and Greg Reiber (shot, disc), as well as distance ace Tom Bollinger (1600- 3200-meter runs) were the pacesetters.

ä George Junior Republic 83 1/2, Greenville 66 1/2 — At Crowther Track, Greenville, the visiting Tigers triumphed, led by Chris Featherstone (400, sprint- and mile-relay legs), thrower Mitchell (shot, disc), sprinters Miller (200-meter dash, 4x4 relay leg) and Banks (100-meter dash, sprint-relay leg), and versatile Rodriguez (long jump, 4x1 relay leg). Also, Rupert rifled the javelin 177 feet, 8 inches.
