Full Gospel Business group slates meeting
SHARON — Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in Keystone Blind Association, 1230 Stambaugh Ave. Those attending are invited to bring a friend.
Community Baptist to have minister ordained
FARRELL — An ordination service for Minister Jimmie Wilder is set for 4 p.m. Sunday in Community Missionary Baptist Church, 1013 Emerson Ave.
Rev. Brian Johnson, pastor of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, Sharon, will serve as ordination messenger.
Rev. Joseph Davis, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Farrell, and president of Shenango Valley Ministerial Association, will serve as ordination catechizer.
Rev. James McKeithen, pastor of Second Baptist Church, Sharpsville, will deliver the charge to Minister Wilder.
Various pastors of the valley also will participate. The host church’s choir will render the music.
Hadley Presbyterian plans praise celebration
HADLEY — A celebration of praise is set for 7 p.m. Sunday in Hadley Presbyterian Church, Church Street.
Rev. Roy Harriger of Lyndonville, N.Y., will speak. Fellowship and music will be part of the event.
Rev. Woodson to visit Word of Life Christian
HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP — Rev. Woody Woodson will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Word of Life Christian Center, 127 Wasser Road.
He was an instructor for eight years at Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Okla.; and for two years at Trinity Bible Institute in St. Louis, Mo.
The published author has ministered with those including Billy Jo Daughrety, Oral Roberts, Morrio Muerillo, Jesse Duplantis and Tommy Barnett.
Crossing Paths plans its annual weekend retreat
HERMITAGE — Crossing Paths (Don Reed Ministries) will have its annual “Fun in the Son” weekend retreat July 25 through 27 at Shiloh Ranch, Cook Forest, Pa.
Christian teaching, testimonials, canoeing, golfing and hiking are among the planned events. There also will be a talent hunt for Crossing Paths TV Ministry.

Jerusalem Christian sets men’s breakfast
OTTER CREEK TOWNSHIP — Jerusalem Christian Church will hold its monthly men’s breakfast at 7 a.m. July 26 in the church at 560 Donation Road.
Randy Timblin will continue with the study of the Book of John. All men are invited to attend this Bible study.
Youth Movement Council marking anniversary
FARRELL — Youth Movement Council will celebrate its first anniversary with a Youth Power Night at 6 p.m. July 26 at Veterans’ Square on the corner of Federal Street and Spearman Avenue. Seating will start at 5:30 p.m.
YMC Community Choir will be featured with SWAT Youth Choir from the Akron District of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church as special guests. An offering will be taken. Info: 724-877-9972.
Villa Maria Center slates Global Meditation event
VILLA MARIA — The ninth program in the ongoing 2008 Global Meditation Series is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 2 in Villa Maria Retreat Center, one mile south of U.S. 422 on Evergreen Road in Lawrence County.
The “Deeksha Oneness Blessing” workshop will focus on increasing an understanding and awareness of the connection to the Divine.
Cost is $40 and includes lunch; or $32 for those who bring a brown bag lunch. Those who carpool with four people pay full price for three and $8 for the fourth.

Christian Poetry contest open to local residents
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in a special poetry contest sponsored by Christian Fine Arts Society, free to everyone. There are 50 prizes in all, including a $1,000 grand prize, totaling $4,000.
To enter, send one poem of 21 lines or fewer by Aug. 18 to Free Poetry Contest, 7308 Heritage Drive, Mount Vernon, Ind. 47620. Entries also can be made on-line at www.freecontest.com
