Lakeside E.C. Church sets prayer stations
PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP — The community is invited to unique prayer services from 6 to 10 p.m. today through Sunday in Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, 3203 N. Hermitage Road (Route 18).
Prayer stations will be set up in the fellowship hall to guide participants to reflect on specific scriptures using the five senses of taste, touch, sight, sound and smell.
“Honoring God for our Freedoms” will be the theme. The stations have themes including spiritual warfare, emotional and spiritual healing, holiness, praise and hope. A special table for military friends also will be available.

New Hope group having 6th ‘Heart to Heart’
FARRELL — New Hope Missionary Baptist Church’s Women’s Ministry will celebrate its sixth annual “Heart to Heart” luncheon at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church, 909 Lee Ave.
Lady Gracie Newell, first lady of Jesus’ Church — Faith Christian Center Ministries, Farrell, will be guest messenger.
Ruth A.M.E. Church slates spring luncheon
SHARON — “Moving Foward in Faith” spring luncheon is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 95 Connelly Blvd. The theme is from Romans 5:1-4.
Sister Rosalyn Wright of Greater Morris Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Farrell, will speak.
Greater Mount Zion sets Gospel Explosion
FARRELL — Gospel Explosion will be at 6 p.m. Saturday in Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, 1825 Roemer Blvd.
Guests will be Austin Singers and New Generation of Youngstown, Community Church of God in Christ, Warren, Ohio; Margaret Rainey of Calvery International Ministries; and Kingdom Builders Choir.
New Beginnings Christian hosting gospel singer
GREENVILLE — A professional gospel singer will minister at 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday in New Beginnings Christian Church, 73 Hamburg Road. The events are in celebration of the church’s sixth anniversary.
Mikki Kornegay will sing traditional and contemporary gospel music. Offerings will be received.
Covenant Presbyterian hosting renowned cellist
SHARON — Internationally renowned cellist Jules Polachek will perform during the 11 a.m. service Sunday in Covenant Presbyterian Church, 263 E. State St.
He will be accompanied by local musicians Jeff and Becky Johns of Hermitage. Polachek performs with Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Brevard and Florida Lakes symphonies; and regularly on stage at Universal Studios, Disney World and Sea World properties.
He conducted and coached Christian church music ministry throughout the country. He is ministering through New Castle-based LATCOM’s Ministry to Transform Nations. Nursery will be provided.
Dr. Diana Jones speaking in Greater Mount Zion
FARRELL — Dr. Diana Jones, a professor at Slippery Rock University, wil speak at 11:15 a.m. Sunday in Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, 1825 Roemer Blvd. She is a member of the church.
Community Baptist Jr. Ushers marking 27th
FARRELL — Community Missionary Baptist Church’s Junior Usher Board will celebrate its 27th anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday in the church at 1013 Emerson Ave.
Brother Ernest J. Saunders III of the church will give his first sermon. The Praise Team of Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle in Farrell will provide music.
Keelings to perform in Hadley Presbyterian
HADLEY — The Keelings will give a concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in Hadley Presbyterian Church, Church Street.

New Light Baptist sets 3-day WOW revival
SHARON — Scheduled speakers for “Women of the World” revival services at 6 p.m. next week in New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 170 Sharpsville Ave., are Elder Sonja Theodore on Wednesday, Evangelist Jacqueline Walker on Thursday, and Rev. Jeanette Hubbard on May 9.
A prayer breakfast with Minister Tiffany Holden will conclude the revival at 9 a.m. May 10 in the church.

Area residents can enter religious poetry contest
LINDEN, N.J. — Local residents can enter a religious poetry contest.
A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in the contest sponsored by New Jersey Rainbow Poets. Deadline is June 14 and 50 prizes totaling about $5,000 will be given.
Entries should include the writer’s name and address on the page with the poem. Also, to receive a winners list, send a stamped return envelope.
