A Sharon man on probation for a July 2008 shooting in Farrell faces charges of resisting arrest after Sharon police picked him up Wednesday night on a warrant for violating his probation.

Terran D. Paige-Hughes, 20, of 367 North St., Sharon, was arrested at 6:11 p.m. at 335 Sterling Avenue, Sharon police said.

Paige-Hughes was paroled in March at his sentencing for charges stemming from a fight over an Xbox game in which Paige-Hughes fired a handgun at a man.

Sharon police found Paige-Hughes Wednesday in a Sterling Avenue apartment and he tried to jump out a second-story window, police said. He struggled with police but was eventually subdued and taken into custody, police said.

Paige-Hughes was wanted on a pair of warrants.

One was issued Oct. 5 for failing to make payments since May in the 2008 case in which he pleaded guilty in January to charges of carrying a firearm without a license and simple assault. In the plea deal, charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession of crack cocaine and possession with intent to deliver were withdrawn.

The second warrant was for receiving stolen property from Farrell last month, police said. Paige-Hughes was also charged with resisting arrest and taken to Mercer County Jail.
