A Sharpsville man police said gave alcohol to teenagers and molested one of them had charges held to Mercer County Common Pleas Court Thursday.
James E. Carson III, 36, of 211 S. Walnut St., is charged with three counts of indecent assault, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors.
Carson stipulated to the charges, meaning he recognized that there was enough evidence for the district judge to bind the charges over if there had been a preliminary hearing.
According to court documents:
On July 27, Carson had 8 minors at his home for a drinking party, the youngest of whom was 14.
Carson gave the teens vodka, rum and beer and told them they weren’t allowed to leave until they had drunk it.
One boy, who had been drinking vodka, vomited and passed out on the couch.
While he was unconscious, Carson molested the boy.
District Judge James E. McMahon, Sharon, granted a request by Carson’s attorney Dan Davis and reduced Carson’s bond from $50,000 to $5,000.
A condition of Carson’s release will be that he have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and not possess or consume alcohol, McMahon said.
