A Wheatland man faces charges after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Sharon home and holding her there overnight last week.
Daniel C. George Jr., 20, of 62 Vaughn Ave., was charged Wednesday with kidnapping, burglary, carrying a gun without a license, unlawful restraint, indecent assault, false imprisonment and simple assault.
George turned himself in Monday morning and was arraigned on the charges and taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $25,000 bond, police said.
George is accused of forcing his way into a 25-year-old woman’s apartment in the 300 block of Quinby Street the evening of June 29 and keeping the woman there against her will, police said.
Police said George had a gun and beat the woman, hitting her in the face multiple times.
The woman reported the incident shortly after noon on Tuesday and police got a warrant for George’s arrest the next day.
George was also charged for violating a protection from abuse order, police said.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 15 before Senior District Judge Henry J. Russo, Sharon.
