Hermitage police have charged a Youngstown man with breaking into six businesses on July 16.

Bobby J. Mock, 39, previously was charged by Hermitage police with eight other thefts.

All told, Mock is facing 35 counts of charges such as burglary, theft and conspiracy.

In the latest filings, Mock is charged with:

• Prying open a rear door of Plaza Pizza, 2417 E. State St., and stealing $50.

• Prying open a rear door of Four Star Pizza, 2090 E. State, and stealing $110 or $210.

• Prying open a rear door of Bill’s Sandwich Shop, 1968 E. State, and stealing a safe and $300. Mock told police the safe was empty and he dumped it in a slag pile in Sharpsville, police said.

• Breaking a front window and prying open a rear door of China Wok, 2425 E. State. Nothing was taken.

• Prying open a rear door of Pizza by Marchelloni’s, 390 N. Buhl Farm Drive. Nothing was taken. Mock told police he left when an alarm rang, police said.

ä Entering an unlocked door of La Isla, 1800 E. State, and stealing $1,200 and a laptop computer.

Mock, interviewed July 24, 2007, at a court appearance in Girard, Ohio, admitted the burglaries and said he was addicted to crack cocaine and heroin, police said. Mock and an accomplice, who has not been charged, drove a stolen car with a stolen license plate from Ohio to commit the break-ins, police said.

Mock pleaded guilty two weeks ago to charges in Mahoning County relating to more than 125 burglaries of homes and businesses in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Mock is accused of leading an interstate ring in which items were stolen based on orders placed by customers.

Mock is being investigated for other Mercer County thefts, police said.
