Hubbard road closed for bridge deck replacement

HUBBARD — State Route 304 at East Liberty Street in Hubbard will be closed for about 90 days, starting Tuesday, for bridge deck replacement. A detour will be posted and marked.

Because of poor conditions, motorists should not use County Line Road as a detour. It has been posted as a “rough road” and the speed limit may be reduced to 20 mph.

Hubbard Township has requested ODOT provide emergency patching and repair of County Line Road. The state department of transportation has so far declined.

Police confiscate $274,000 from two vehicles on I-80

CLINTONVILLE — State police say they have seized more than $274,000 that was hidden in two vehicles on a car hauler they stopped on I-80 in Venango County.

Police say they became suspicious of two men in the cab of the car hauler and conducted a search. They say they found the money stashed in bundles inside two of six vehicles on the car hauler.

It’s unclear whether police arrested the men.
