A Pymatuning Township man was arrested Saturday for threatening a man with a shotgun in West Salem Township and firing off several shots at his home.
David Blair Jr., 35, of 31 Pebble Lane, was charged Saturday by Greenville-West Salem Township police with aggravated assault, three counts of recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.
He was arraigned Sunday by District Judge Lawrence T. Silvis, Worth Township, and taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond.
Blair’s preliminary hearing is set for April 7 with District Judge William L. Fagley, Greenville.
According to a police report and court records:
Blair showed up at his mother Pat Lisk’s home at 1182 Vernon Road, West Salem, around 5:30 p.m. with a 12-gauge shotgun. Blair told Ms. Lisk’s son-in-law Craig Totton he was going to kill him and attempted to load the gun.
Totton and Blair struggled over the shotgun. Totton took it, threw it on the ground and broke it.
Both men left the house. Totton got a call from Blair’s wife, saying Blair was outside their Pymatuning home shooting another gun, frightening neighbors.
Blair also told his wife he was going to Totton’s home to finish what he started and that he called a Greenville woman to say he was on his way to kill her, too.
Police called to Ms. Fisk’s home obtained arrest and search warrants for Blair’s home and he was taken into custody without incident.
Totton later said they were having a party at Ms. Lisk’s home when Blair showed up. Blair aimed the gun at Totton at one point and Totton said he thought he was going to die.
Mercer County’s Critical Incident Response Team and police from Pymatuning, South Pymatuning and Hempfield townships and Jamestown assisted.
