Holiday party was fun until mayor arrived

The Fourth of July usually is about friends and family getting together to celebrate the holiday with cookouts, and setting off some fireworks.
There are a lot of Americans who can’t do this on the actual holiday due to work or other obligations. I work in the food industry and we do not get holidays or weekends off.
The article in The Herald on July 8th involving Todd Davis setting off illegal fireworks is ridiculous. Is this what our tax money goes to? Is this what our mayor does with his spare time, drive around and break up friends, neighbors and families from having a good time?
There were kids that rode their bikes to my residence to watch and a number of neighbors on their porches watching and enjoying them. Who was I hurting?
If fireworks are so illegal then why even sell them in stores? Marijuana is illegal and I don’t know a single store where you can buy it.
What the paper didn’t say was that my neighbors never once asked me to stop lighting fireworks.
A guy driving down my street parked his car in front of my driveway, got out and started yelling at me to stop. Not until about 10 minutes later did he identify himself as the mayor. I then asked him why not do something that will help the community and figure out how to clean up the drugs and gang problems we face daily in other neighborhoods.
I bet he wouldn’t show up on Malleable Street at 10:15 p.m. if he heard gun shots. This is my point: when we have a real problem where is the mayor?
The paper doesn’t say either that after the police arrested me and while I was handcuffed and restrained getting into the back of the police car, one of the officers used his stun gun on me twice. Why was that not in the paper?
Was all of this necessary to interrupt family, friends and a neighborhood on the Fourth of July weekend?
