Sankofa House aided by support from community

— On behalf of the Sankofa House for Women, Inc. board of directors, staff and program participants, we would like to take this time to thank the community for supporting our two Patches of Godlight events. We would like to thank Penn State-Shenango campus for hosting The Patches of Godlight Celebration which featured Ms. Emma Cunningham in concert from Georgia, along with Ms. Charlene Johnson who performed a liturgical dance, New and Living Way Church Gospel Ensemble, the Shenango Valley Chorale and the choir from Notre Dame.
A special thank you goes out to Rev. Ralph Newell from Jesus’ Church and Ms. Charlotte Stewart who served as our wonderful mistress of ceremony for both events.
At our 3rd annual Patches of Godlight Awards Dinner we honored Mrs. Martha Richards, founder and director of Southwest Gardens, for 31 years of service in the Shenango Valley and Mercer County. A special thank you goes out to Rev. Joe Davis from Friendship Baptist and our soloist for the evening, Ms. Emma Cunningham; our state representatives, Mark Longietti, Dick Stevenson, and Michelle Brooks.
Without the support from our community friends of the Sankofa House Project, our success would have been virtually impossible.
