Published September 05, 2008 12:52 pm - Luther Scott Huff, of 3379 Hubbard-West Middlesex Road, Shenango Township, passed away at 12:01 a.m. Thursday (9-4-08) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after a brief illness. She was 81.

Luther Scott Huff, of 3379 Hubbard-West Middlesex Road, Shenango Township, passed away at 12:01 a.m. Thursday (9-4-08) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after a brief illness. She was 81.
A son of the late Luther F. and Florence Rearick Huff, he was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. Huff attended Farrell schools and was a private in the Army during the Korean conflict.
He retired in 1985 from the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, where he worked for 33 years as a roller.
A member of Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex; American Legion Post 160, Farrell; and the Hermitage YMCA, he enjoyed visiting with his friends.
Mr. Huff is survived at home by his wife, the former Maxine (Peterson) Slater, whom he married March 28, 1998. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Jill Brown and her husband Rick, Springfield Township; two stepsons, Danny Slater, Mercer; and Ronald Slater and his wife Kathy, Patterson, N.Y.; five stepgrandchildren, Joey McFeeley; Sara Hamilton and her husband Mike; Chad Brown; Jordan Brown and his wife Melanie; and Patrick Slater; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Eric, Riley and Ava; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Bittler; and a brother, Paul F. Huff.
