Mable L. Buxton, 1061 S. Lake Road, Jefferson Township, passed away peacefully at 11:30 a.m. Sunday (8-24-08) in her residence. She was 90.
Mrs. Buxton was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Mercer to Robert and Elizabeth Mayne Heckathorn.
She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
Her husband, Russell W. Buxton, whom she married April 22, 1939, died Jan. 1, 1997.
Surviving are: three daughters, Gail Deramo and her husband Donald, Coolspring Township; Dixie Locke and her husband Darryl, Newton Falls, Ohio; and Donna King and her husband Wayne, Jefferson Township; a son, Larry E. Buxton and his wife Abby, Findley Township; a sister, Esther Snarey, New Brighton, Pa.; two brothers, Fred Heckathorn, New Wilmington; and Robert Heckathorn and his wife Ruth, Nappanee, Ind.; eight grandchildren and their spouses; and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Herbert, Norman, David and Howard “Don” Heckathorn.
