Published July 17, 2008 02:36 pm - NEW CASTLE — Robert W. Huston Sr., beloved husband and father of 3537-3 Hunters Woods Blvd., New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Jameson Hospital North after a short illness. He was 81.

NEW CASTLE — Robert W. Huston Sr., beloved husband and father of 3537-3 Hunters Woods Blvd., New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Jameson Hospital North after a short illness. He was 81.

Born on May 23, 1927, in New Castle, Mr. Huston was a son of the late Paul B. and Mary Elizabeth Black Huston.

He married Patricia Shira Huston on Oct. 19, 1946. She survives.

Mr. Huston was president of Brenner Industrial Sales and Supply Co. in Youngstown, retiring in 1985. Prior to that he was vice president and general manager until 1958 of Huston Inc. in New Castle.

Mr. Huston was a graduate of New Castle High School and Westminster College, New Wilmington.

He served as a corporal in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Huston was devoted to his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.

He was a member of Grove City Alliance Church and Naples (Fla.) Alliance Church.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda A. and her husband James Gajda, New Castle; and Robin and her husband Dr. David McGuire, Grove City; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. Huston Jr. and his wife Robin, Beaver Falls; nine grandchildren, Jay Gajda, New Castle; Dr. Steven Gajda and his wife Meredith, Mentor, Ohio; Matthew McGuire and his wife Jessica, Montgomery Village, Md.; Emily (McGuire) and her husband Jonathan Lozasky, Mars, Allegheny County; Rebekah McGuire, Canton, Ohio; and Kayla, Leah, Jenna and Hannah Huston, all Beaver Falls; and four great-grandchildren, Lucas Gajda, Mentor; and Caitlyn, Lydia and Liam McGuire, all Montgomery Village.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Mary Kathleen and Wendy Huston.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grove City Alliance Church Building Fund, 845 N. Liberty Road, Grove City 16127; or Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County, 1211 Wilmington Ave., New Castle 16105.
