Published July 03, 2008 02:50 pm - POLAND, Ohio — Bernice Ellen “Bonnie” Hathhorn of 5201 Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, Ohio, formerly of Sharpsville, died of cancer on Tuesday afternoon (7-1-08) in the Hospice House, Poland. She was 66.

POLAND, Ohio — Bernice Ellen “Bonnie” Hathhorn of 5201 Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, Ohio, formerly of Sharpsville, died of cancer on Tuesday afternoon (7-1-08) in the Hospice House, Poland. She was 66.

Mrs. Hathhorn was born July 25, 1941, in Larsen, Wis., a daughter of Leonard and Viola Larson Larson.

She lived in Sharpsville from 1975 to 1995, when she moved to the Boardman (Ohio) area.

Bonnie had been a flight attendant with American Airlines before becoming a travel agent with Plaza Travel of Sharon, from which she retired in 2003 after 20 years. Her travels took her to more than 35 countries, but her favorite destination was always Alaska, where she led many group tours.

Bonnie was an active member of Boardman United Methodist Church where she was a member of the worship committee and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Kiwi Club of former American Airlines flight attendants.

She leaves: her husband, Thomas G. Hathhorn, whom she married May 1, 1965; a daughter, Gayle and her husband Travis Carter, Hilliard, Ohio; a son, Jeffrey P. Hathhorn and his wife Rachel, Gibsonia, Pa.; three sisters, Theda and her husband Abe Eckstein, Larsen; Judith Chance, Hilliard; and Gail and her husband Lawrence Blanton, Kerrville, Texas; and three grandchildren, Brooke Hathhorn; and Briana and Mariah Carter.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Boardman United Methodist Church Memorial Fund for Youth Ministry in care of 6809 Market St.; or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., both Youngstown, OH 44512.
