Maria Giuditta Restagno Femia, 3335 Pothour Wheeler Road, Hubbard; and of Syme Street, Masury, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday (5-13-08) in her residence. She was 96.
Mrs. Femia was born Aug. 14, 1911, in Marina di Gioiosa IO Reggio Calabria, Italy, the daughter of Vincenzo and Maria Teresa Femia Restagno.
She attended schools in Italy.
A homemaker, she was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
Mrs. Femia immigrated to the United States in 1964.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved spending time with her grandchildren; and she also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading her Bible.
Her husband, Nicola Femia, whom she married Dec. 23, 1937, passed away May 23, 1989.
She is survived by her two daughters, Caterina Commisso and her husband Giuseppe, Masury; and Anna Maria Barletta and her husband Rocco, Hubbard; three sons, Luigi Femia and his wife Carol; and Vincent Femia and his wife Sarah, all Hubbard; and Rocco Femia and his wife Kathy, Masury; a son-in-law, Donato D’Urso, Hartford; a sister, Rosina Angilletta, Italy; and 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Teresa D’Urso; and two sisters, Caterina Marrapoti and Marianna Restagno.
