Frank J. Smith, 121 S. Second St., Greenville, passed away at 1:37 a.m. Wednesday (5-14-08) following a brief illness in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 68.
Frank was born May 28, 1939, in Washington, Pa., and was raised by his grandmother, Carrie Ellafritz, who preceded him in death.
He entered the Navy Reserves in 1957 and signed on to serve four years of active duty in the United States.
He worked for Waste Management for 35 years and currently owned and operated his local business, Smitty’s Hauling.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and hanging out at the Adams Hotel.
He is survived by his wife, Tawny Nale Smith. They were married in 1985 and recently renewed their vows on June 29, 2007, in Riverside Park, Greenville.
He is also survived by two daughters, Tanya Nale and Carrie Smith, both Greenville; and a niece he and his wife raised, Brandy Keener and her husband Larry, Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home, 73-75 Columbia Ave. Greenville, 16125.

Service: Funeral and committal services at 4 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Shreffler, retired minister and family friend, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Greenville V.F.W. Honor Guard.
Burial: Cremation will follow the service.
