Dorothy J. McCluskey Thompson

Dorothy J. McCluskey Thompson, a resident since 1945 of 374 Cranberry Road, Pine Township, passed away at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in her residence. She was 78.
Mrs. Thompson was born April 3, 1930, in North Liberty to Leroy and Izetta Rodgers McCluskey.
She retired after many years of employment from Grove City College, where she worked in the housekeeping department.
Dorothy was of the Protestant faith and with her husband, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their camp in Belltown.
Her husband, John “Jack” I. Thompson, whom she married Nov. 13, 1945, passed away Oct. 10, 2004.
Surviving are: two sons, John E. Thompson and his wife Linda; and Robert E. Thompson, all Grove City; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vallie Carpenter, Florida.
Besides her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Nina Swogger and Sheila changed per FD Barsh; and four brothers, George, Roy, Floyd and James McCluskey.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (5-15-08) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Service: Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday (5-16-08) in the funeral home with the Rev. G. Kenton Shaw, visitation pastor of Wayside Community Church, Findley Township, officiating.
Interment: Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.
