Published May 09, 2008 12:02 pm - A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday for Rosemary E. Burckart, formerly of Pierce Avenue, Sharpsville. She passed away at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (5-7-08) in Shepherd of the Valley, Niles, Ohio, after an extended illness. She was 92.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday for Rosemary E. Burckart, formerly of Pierce Avenue, Sharpsville. She passed away at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (5-7-08) in Shepherd of the Valley, Niles, Ohio, after an extended illness. She was 92.

Mrs. Burckart was born April 11, 1916, in Sharon, a daughter of the late William J. Conlin and Elizabeth F. Knapp Conlin.

A lifelong area resident, she was a 1933 graduate of Sharpsville High School.

Mrs. Burckart was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and a former member of Church of the Sacred Heart, both Sharon. A homemaker, she was a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 507, Sharon.

Her husband, Raymond E. Burckart Sr., whom she married April 15, 1941, passed away May 18, 2003.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Beth Havasi and her husband Joe D. Havasi, Niles; two sons, Raymond E. Burckart Jr. and his wife Sandy, Hermitage; and James C. Burckart and his wife Eileen, Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Raymond E. Burckart III, Hermitage; Jeanne Burckart, Norfolk, Va.; Michael Burckart and his wife Mande, Hermitage; Shannon Burckart, Columbus, Ohio; Christopher Burckart and his wife Jennifer, Canton; and Joseph Havasi and his wife Lynn, Niles; five great-grandchildren, Raegan, Jackson, Harrison, Megan and Joseph; a sister-in-law, Marge Conlin, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Burckart was preceded in death by a son, Robert G. Burckart, who died in infancy; and two brothers, William Conlin and Dr. Edward Conlin.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shepherd Foundation, 1500 McKinley Ave., Niles, OH 44446.

Calling hours: Friends may call from 9 a.m. to time of the Mass on Saturday (5-10-08) in the gathering room of St. Joseph’s Church, corner of East State Street and Case Avenue, Sharon. Friends may e-mail condolences to McGonigleFuneralHome@verizon.net

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph’s Church with Monsignor Salvatore P. Mitchell, retired priest, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
