Published May 07, 2008 02:33 pm - AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Eleanor M. Cerra, formerly of Mary Street, Farrell, passed away peacefully at 7:50 a.m. Monday (5-5-08) in the Humility House, 755 Ohl Towne Road, Austintown. She was 93.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Eleanor M. Cerra, formerly of Mary Street, Farrell, passed away peacefully at 7:50 a.m. Monday (5-5-08) in the Humility House, 755 Ohl Towne Road, Austintown. She was 93.

Mrs. Cerra was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Farrell, a daughter of the late James and Carrie Colecchi Colangelo.

A lifelong area resident, she attended Sharon High School.

Mrs. Cerra was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

She was an outstanding cook and early in her life, was active with the Football Mothers at Farrell High School, where her son was a standout football player.

Her husband, Anthony S. Cerra, whom she married June 5, 1937, passed away Jan. 21, 1998.

Surviving are: a daughter, Geraldine L. Janoso and her husband John R. “Jack” Janoso, Liberty Township, Trumbull County; a son, Anthony J. Cerra and his wife Janice, St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters, Emily Marks and her husband Adam; and Anne Tibolet, all Sharon; and Lillian Stigliano and her husband Frank, Hermitage; a brother, Victor Colangelo and his wife Lea, formerly of Hermitage; five grandchildren, Mary Lynne Janoso, John R. “Jack” Janoso, Anthony Janoso, Scott Janoso and Ashley Stampehl; and 11 great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Brooke Pumphrey; Rachael, Alex, Britni and Anthony; twins, Jacob and Kylie; Tiffany and Isabella Janoso; and Maxwell Stampehl.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Cerra was preceded in death by a sister, Flora Rocco; and a brother, Dominic Colangelo.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humility House, 755 Ohl Towne Road, Austintown, OH 44515.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
