Published May 03, 2008 10:06 pm - Andrew “Andy” Paul Bobish, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 12 p.m. on Thursday (5-1-08) in Meadowbrook Manor, Fowler, Ohio, after an extended illness. He was 43.

Andrew “Andy” Paul Bobish, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 12 p.m. on Thursday (5-1-08) in Meadowbrook Manor, Fowler, Ohio, after an extended illness. He was 43.

Mr. Bobish was born on Wednesday, April 21, 1965, in Sharon, a son of George and Shirley Unger Bobish.

Andy was raised in Pulaski and graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1983.

He worked for Reyers Shoe Store in downtown Sharon for 10 years.

Some of his favorite things included rooting for his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also liked Raggedy Andy and the Wizard of Oz.

A veteran, he served with the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on July 2, 1992.

He is survived by: his companion of 12 years, Roy A. West, Warren, Ohio; his mother, Shirley Bobish, Kinsman, Ohio; six sisters, Georgia Martin and her husband Wayne, West Middlesex; Patty Filipovich and her husband Bob “Butch” Filipovich, Brookfield; Debbie Falvo and her husband Sam, Farrell; Pamela Staul and her husband Brian, Sharon; Lou Ann Dyll and her husband Bob, Kinsman; and Tina Meeks, Sharon; a brother, George Bobish, Canton, Ohio; 15 nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and a great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, George, in 1976; and a half-sister, Maureen Close.

Service: Private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage, with the Rev. Frank A. Firko, pastor of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, officiating.

Inurnment: St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements by J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
