Joel Virgil Kelly

Joel Virgil Kelly, a resident since 1947 of Forestville, Mercer Township, Butler County, passed away on Friday afternoon, May 2, 2008, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after a one-week illness. He was 69.
Mr. Kelly was born Aug. 23, 1939, in New Castle to Virgil C. and Marian Eleanor Johnson Kelly.
He was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School Class of 1957.
Mr. Kelly retired after 30 years with the Pennsylvania National Guard, Grove City unit, and was formerly employed by the former National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon.
He was an active member of Forestville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kelly had a passion for roller skating, which he enjoyed, and loved playing the organ.
Surviving are: a brother, Dr. Donald Kelly and his wife Dianna, Grove City; two nephews, Donald L. Kelly, Chernobyl, Ukraine; and Todd G. Kelly, Denver, Colo.; a niece, Samantha Kelly, Grove City; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday (5-5-08) in Forestville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Carr, officiating.
Interment: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
