Published May 02, 2008 01:50 pm - Roy Peter Keck Sr. of 359 North St., Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, in his residence in Sharon after a brief illness. He was 51.

Roy Peter Keck Sr. of 359 North St., Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, in his residence in Sharon after a brief illness. He was 51.

Mr. Keck was born Aug. 14, 1956, in Sharon to Donald and Carmella “Boots” Miano Keck.

As a 1974 graduate of Sharon High School, he won blue ribbon awards on the school’s swimming and bowling teams.

He was a member of Shenango Valley Church of God, Hermitage.

Roy was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving are: a companion, Trudy Weakley, at home; two sons, Roy P. Keck Jr. and his wife Kathryn, Woodbridge, Va.; and Shaun B.F. Keck, Sharon; two grandsons, Dillion and Mitchell Keck; four sisters, Linda and her husband James Janesek, Chicago; Grace Ann Keck, Sharon; Loretta Keck, Farrell; and Evelyn J. Keck, Sharon; and a brother, Donald Keck Jr. and his companion Carol Moore, Youngstown.

He also leaves four nieces and five nephews.

Besides his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Olivia Sara-Beth Keck; and a great-nephew, Dawson Robert Kelly.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shenango Valley Church of God, 1957 Pine Hollow Blvd., Hermitage 16148.

Calling hours: 2 p.m. to time of service Sunday (5-4-08) in HAROLD W. STEVENSON FUNERAL HOME, 264 E. State St., Sharon. Condolences may be e-mailed to stevensonfh1@verizon.net

Service: Funeral service at 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. Geraldine Williams, chaplain of Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and Palliative Care, officiating.

Interment: Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
