Farmer worked at Thiel, Carnegie, sang in choirJohn Joseph Armbruster, 672 Magner Road, Coolspring Township, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. He was 76.
Mr. Armbruster was born March 4, 1932, in Pittsburgh to John F. and Agnes Shearn Armbruster.
He was a self-employed farmer and was employed at Thiel College, Greenville; and Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Armbruster served from 1949-52 in the Korean conflict.
As a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer, he taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
John also belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7599, Reynolds; and Knights of Columbus Council 4270, Mercer, in which he was a third degree knight.
Surviving are two sisters, Murna Wilsman, Monroeville, Pa.; and Martha and her husband Harold Mabold, Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marie Cain and Agnes Stock.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Saturday (5-3-08) in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Mercer, with the Rev. James Kennelley, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: All Saints Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
