Funeral service will be Tuesday (4-29-08) for Victoria Gagany, 26 Beechwood Ave., Wheatland. She passed away at 8 a.m. Saturday (4-26-08) in her residence. She was 80.
Mrs. Gagany was born March 14, 1928, in Wheatland, a daughter of the late Doroftei and Maria Lascu Costea.
A lifelong area resident, she attended school in Wheatland and Farrell.
Mrs. Gagany retired from the former Flash Cleaners, Sharon, where she was employed for 40 years.
A homemaker, she was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Hermitage and its Ladies Aid Society.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking and shopping.
Victoria was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are: her husband at home, Simon T. “Frank” Gagany Jr., whom she married Jan. 24, 1954, in Holy Cross Church; a son, Robert E. Flynn Jr. and his wife Carol S. Flynn, Niles, Ohio; two grandchildren, Robin Flynn-Maule and her husband Harold Maule, Hermitage; and Bonnie Flynn, Sharon; four great-grandchildren, Danielle Maule, Kevin Maule, Nicholas Maule and Scott Robert Maule; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Victoria was preceded in death by two brothers, John Costea, and Daniel Costea, who died at birth; and three sisters, Ann Costea, Mary Suchin, and Cornelia Burkhart.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Cross Orthodox Church, 950 Maple Drive, Hermitage 16148.
