Sharon man retiredfrom Army, loved sports
A funeral service will be held Tuesday for Charles Harold Richardson, Fourth Avenue, Sharon. He passed away peacefully at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2008, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, after a brief illness. He was 74.
Mr. Richardson was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Sharon to the late Andrew C. and Edith E. (Wise) Richardson.
Charles loved sports, especially baseball, football and basketball.
He was dedicated to his country, being a sergeant 1st class in the U.S. Army from 1955 through 1973 as a paratrooper and medic, having served in Vietnam, Okinawa, Fort Campbell, Ky., and Fort Dix, N.J., before retiring.
He was a 1952 graduate of Sharon High School.
He belonged to Community of Christ Church, Sharon.
He is survived by: two daughters, Valerie Good, York, S.C.; and Kimberley Sipe, Clover, S.C.; a sister, Shirley Ann King, Hermitage; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. today (4-28-08) in HAROLD W. STEVENSON FUNERAL HOME, 264 E. State St., Sharon.
Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday (4-29-08) in the funeral home with Elder Cindy Rowe, pastor of Community of Christ Church, Sharon, officiating.
Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, with military honors provided by the Sharon Honor Guard.
Arrangements by HAROLD W. STEVENSON FUNERAL HOME, 264 E. State St., Sharon.
