A funeral service will be held Monday for Lilly Caroline Ellberg Lawson of 6897 Dermond Road, Hermitage. She died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday evening (2-19-08) in Clepper Manor, Sharon. She was 97.
Mrs. Lawson was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Warren County to C. Robert and Ellen Caroline Carlson Ellberg.
As an active member of Shenango Valley Church of God in Hermitage, Mrs. Lawson was a Sunday school teacher and belonged to the Women’s Missionary Society.
A homemaker, her hobbies included sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening and flowers.
Her husband, Charles A. Lawson, whom she married Sept. 3, 1926, died in June 1986.
Surviving are: a daughter, Nancy E. Wingard, Hermitage; four sons, Charles Lawson and his wife Doris, Foley, Ala.; Boyd Lawson and his wife Nancy, Jamestown, N.Y.; Curtis Lawson and his wife Marvelene, Mifflin Creek, Ala.; and Keith Lawson and his wife Joyce, Wheeling, W.Va.; and a sister, Robinell Grant, Warren, Pa.
She also leaves: 12 grandchildren, Sandra Johnson, Karen Johnson, Sharon Perley, Janet Lawson; Joe, Scott, Shawn and Kevin Wingard; Eric, Kirk and Mark Lawson; and Carol Robinson; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday (2-25-08) in the funeral home with the Rev. Vern Allison, state coordinator of the Church of God, officiating.
Interment: Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
