George Junior sets Veterans Celebration
PINE TOWNSHIP — George Junior Republic, Pine Township, will host its second annual Veterans Celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Resource Center.
A speaker, multimedia presentation, prayer service and lunch will be included. The event is open to all veterans.

Medical ethics project slated at Thiel College
GREENVILLE — Two identical sessions of Community Medical Ethics Project are planned for 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 in Howard Miller Student Center’s Sawhill-Georgian Room on the campus of Thiel College in Greenville.
Drs. Arthur White and Matt Morgan, both Thiel professors, will present “Who Gets the Good Stuff? A Pre-Election Review and Conversation about the Health Care System in the United States.”
Access to health care in America will be reviewed with attention paid to the availability of insurance, its costs and coverage and the impact of the uninsured on the system.
UPMC Horizon and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, both Greenville; St. Paul Homes, West Salem Township; and Thiel will sponsor the event.

Grove City College to give alumni awards
GROVE CITY — The 2008 Grove City College Jack Kennedy Memorial Alumni Achievement Awards will be presented to four graduates at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in Mary Anderson Pew Hall, on campus.
