Fundraisers
• St. John’s Orthodox Church holds a huge rummage sale of more than 40 tables from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 in St. John’s Educational Center, corner of Cedar and Morrison in Sharon. On Sept. 6 items will be sold for $2 a bag.
• Hickory United Methodist Church, next to the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, will hold its annual trash and treasure sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 6. There will be treasures of all kinds, a bake sale and food.
• Women of West Middlesex United Methodist Church are sponsoring a good used clothing sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12 and 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 13, which will be bag day.
Kids stuff
• Mercer County Family Center presents an “Under the Sea” experience at these places:
Stey Nevant Library, Farrell, 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 10.
Sharon Family Center, Case Avenue, 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 10.
Hempfield Elementary School, 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 11.
This music and movement program is for parents and children ages 2 to 5 and features crafts, singing, dancing, story time and a snack.
Meetings
• The Slovenian Ladies Auxiliary meets at 2 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Slovenian Home, French Street and Baldwin Avenue, Sharon.
All members are urged to attend.
