Mercer County Senior Community Centers, divisions of Mercer County Area Agency on Aging Inc., announce activities for September.
A free public workshop, “The Upside of Downsizing, Separating Trash from Treasure” by Victoria Dellaquila, is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 10 in McQuiston Center by the Park, Sandy Lake.
A Senior Celebration is slated for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 in Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, with free screenings, demonstrations, entertainment and prizes. Transportation is available. All centers except Grove City will be closed.

Shenango Valley
At Shenango Valley Senior Community Center, 220 N. Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage:
Watercolor classes will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30, with oil painting classes at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 12. Participants must sign up in advance.

Sept. 10 — 11 a.m., “What You Should Know About Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Admission Contracts” with lawyer Carolyn Hartle.
