Class
• Buhl Community Recreation Center offers a Tot Swimming Program for the fall. Registration is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 2. Classes start Sept. 8. The program is geared toward children ages 6 months to 5 years old. Info: 724-977-1631.
Fundraiser
• Slippery Rock & Harrisville Volunteer Fire companies are sponsoring a cash and gun raffle Sportsman’s Night Sept. 19 at Harrisville Fire Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and first drawing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. You must present a ticket and be 21 years of age or older to enter. State fee to be paid by winner. One winner per ticket. Special events
• Mercer County Korean War Veterans are having an official flag burning at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial site, Route 318 (West Middlesex-Hubbard Road), near Oak Tree Country Club. The public is invited to bring their flags to burn.
• Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 3480 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, will hold a free community spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28. This is our gift to you. The church is located behind J.D. Byder off Sunset.

• Prince of Peace Center, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell, is hosting its Second Annual Block Party from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 28.

• The downtown Sharon Farmers’ Market located in the parking lot of the Sharon City Centre is sponsoring a Market Day with a Froggy live remote radio broadcast from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The following agencies or businesses will be participating: Dean Dairy, Medicine Shoppe, Mercer County Extension Office, Mercer County Area Agency on Aging and a representative from the Dairy Farmers.
• Frankie and the Sensations will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center in Buhl Farm Park, Hermitage, followed by a “movie in the park,” “Legally Blond” (rated PG-13) at 8:30 p.m. Fresh popcorn and soft drinks will be available between events. A limited number of benches is available so bring your own lawn chairs, relax and enjoy.

• Dr. Christopher Myers, general and bariatric surgeon with Horizon Surgical Associates – UPMC, will present weight loss surgery orientation sessions on 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16 and Sept. 30 in assembly rooms A and B, located in the basement of UPMC Horizon, Greenville.These sessions are free and open to anyone interested in learning more about bariatric surgery at UPMC Horizon. Reunions
• West Middlesex High School class of 1964 invites the WMHS class of 1963 and 1965 to a mixer in celebration of their 45th class reunion beginning at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at the West Middlesex Veterans of Foreign Wars.
• Brookfield High School class of 1969 will hold its 40th class reunion from 6 to 11 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Metroplex, Interstate 80 and state Route 193 in Liberty, Ohio. Dinner choices are stuffed chicken breast, New York strip steak or pasta primavera. All dinners include garlic smashed red skin potatoes, vegetable medley, garden salad, rolls and butter, coffee, tea, water, New York style cheesecake or chocolate truffle cake.
The hotel will hold 10 rooms for the reunion. Cost of the room includes a continental breakfast. Check-in is at 3 p.m. Oct. 17 and check-out is at noon Oct. 18. Reservations must be made by Sept. 19. Meetings
• Brookfield Senior Group “Over the Hill Gang” gathers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at the firehall on state Route 7 in Brookfield. Gayle Linden, a licensed practical nurse and community education coordinator, will discuss osteoporosis.
Lunch will be available for $3 and there will be bingo, cards and fellowship. All seniors are welcome.
• Sharon High School class of 1960 meets at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Denny’s restaurant for breakfast. All classmates welcome.
