Fundraiser
Slippery Rock & Harrisville Volunteer Fire companies are sponsoring a cash and gun raffle Sportsman’s Night Sept. 19 at Harrisville Fire Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and first drawing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. You must present a ticket and be 21 years of age or older to enter. State fee to be paid by winner. One winner per ticket. Mercer County Korean War Veterans are having an official flag burning at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial site, Route 318 (West Middlesex-Hubbard Road), near Oak Tree Country Club. The public is invited to bring their flags to burn.
Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 3480 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, will hold a free community spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28. This is our gift to you. The church is located behind J.D. Byder off Sunset.

Prince of Peace Center, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell, is hosting its Second Annual Block Party from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 28.

Frankie and the Sensations will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center in Buhl Farm Park, Hermitage, followed by a “movie in the park,” “Legally Blond” (rated PG-13) at 8:30 p.m. Fresh popcorn and soft drinks will be available between events. A limited number of benches is available so bring your own lawn chairs, relax and enjoy.
