• Mercer County Trails Association is hosting a recreational bicycle ride at 2 p.m. Sunday. The ride starts at Hempfield (Township) Park, off St. Glory Road, and travels through scenic farm and woodlands and offers a variety of distances for riders of every level.
Sunday’s ride is to promote the “Pedal the Lakes” bicycle tour in September, which raises funds to establish a system of multi-use recreational trails throughout the county.

• The Meadville Market House is having a Blueberry Festival and Wine Tasting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, featuring wines by Wilhelm Winery.
Fresh-churned blueberry ice cream and blueberry buckle by Fresh From the Vines will be available. Restaurants around the Market House will also be featuring blueberry treats. Music will be provided by Hotel Charlie.

• West Middlesex Area Historical Society holds Old Fashioned Days 2008 on Aug. 2 and 3.
Events on Aug. 2 run 5 to 9 p.m. on Mill Street . Events, for all ages, include dancing in the street, a jitterbug contest, food and J.J. the D.J. and Henry Macey.
Car rides, Model T Ford and Hut Mobile Cruise-in for cars 30 years and older will be noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 3. There will be a barbershop quartet, face painting, Sunshine the Clown, old-time movies outdoors, food and a 50/50 raffle.
In case of rain the events will be held Aug. 9-10.
Fundraisers
• Fredonia American Legion Auxiliary holds super bingo Aug. 3 at East End Fire station in Mercer. Doors open at noon and games start at 2 p.m.
Cost is $30 for advance tickets and $35 at the door.
