Meetings

• Mercer County Christian Coalition will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, 3203 N. Hermitage Road (Route 18), Pymatuning Township.
The educational portion of the event will be the DVD video of Session 9 from the Prophesy Conference. The speaker is a very informed Jewish male, Ami Tsarfati. He informs listeners of what is happening and what may be the outcome for all countries of the Middle East.

• West Middlesex High School class of 1970 meets for lunch at 12:30 p.m. May 17 at Billy’s Black & Gold, Sharon.
• Farrell High School class of 1959 holds a 50th class reunion meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Italian Home, Farrell. All classmates are encouraged to attend.
• Sharpsville High School class of 1967 meets from 6 to 8 p.m. May 20 at Muscarella’s, 500 Main St., Sharpsville.

Fundraisers

• Mercer County Master Gardeners are holding their 12th annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mercer County 4-H Park Exhibit Building, 11/2 miles north of Mercer on Route 19. There will be annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs.
Garden art will be available for sale. Master Gardeners will also be available to answer questions and give gardening tips. Info: 724-962-4265.
• A steak fry dinner will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wheatland American Legion.
Tickets are $15 each. There will be raffles and a Chinese auction. Proceeds benefit the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department. Info: 724-347-7060.
• Animal Appeal will hold a used book sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at 1950 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage (near Meiss Automotive). Choose from many categories including romance, western, mystery, adventure and more. Also available will be hardbacks, children’s books, videos and more.

• A stuffed pork chop dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. May 17 at Hartstown Presbyterian Church, just west of the blinker light on Route 322 in Hartstown. Dinner includes side dishes, beverage and homemade pie. Cost is $7 for adults; $3.50 for children and free for children younger than 6. Takeouts available, call 814-382-4757.
• GFWC Grove City Woman’s Club holds the Fifth Garden Mart in the Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 in Grove City Memorial Park.
Muffins and coffee available from the Woman’s Club. See the Nutt Road Honey Farm display. Visit local artist Sheryl Anderson or purchase a cement cast leaf for your home or yard. Plants for your garden will be available. Jan Kellar, naturalist from Goddard State Park, will have information, kids crafts and stories about bats to go with the “night creatures” theme. There will be hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches available to purchase. View indoor and outdoor craft items and talk to representatives about their businesses.
Vendors are asked to make a donation for table space and money raised will be used to provide a high school award to a graduating senior and for donations to local charities such as the library, Meals on Wheels, etc.
• Prince of Peace Center is selling magnetic ribbons for homeless awareness and support for the homeless. Homeless Awareness ribbons are $3 and Support the Homeless ribbon $5.
All profits will provide programming and educational opportunities, resources and more to the homeless in Mercer County.

• White Chapel United Methodist Church, 415 Old Mercer-New Castle Road, Mercer County, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17. Dollar per bag will be held after 3 p.m.

• The annual youth group yard sale at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 10 Beil Hill Road, Greenville, is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17.
There will be baked goods, whole barbecued chickens to go, clothing, miscellaneous treasures and more. Lunch will be served.
Proceeds from this sale will be used to help kids attend Confircamp.
Support groups

• Survivors of Suicide Support Group meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at Grace Chapel Church, 120 Elm Ave., Sharon.

• Military Moms Support Group will not meet in May. The group will be walking in Sharpsville’s Memorial Day parade on May 26. Participants are to form at 8:45 a.m. at Sharpsville Plaza.

Special event

• Fredonia American Legion will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 2 p.m. May 17 with Dustin Coffey, an Eagle scout.
A luncheon will follow the ceremony.
The event is open to the public.
