The second annual Come Fly a Kite Day at Buhl Farm is scheduled to begin with registration at 10:30 a.m. May 16 at the park’s kite field. The event is being sponsored by The Herald in cooperation with Buhl Farm.

The second annual Come Fly a Kite Day at Buhl Farm is scheduled to begin with registration at 10:30 a.m. May 16 at the park’s kite field.
The event is being sponsored by The Herald in cooperation with Buhl Farm.
Before participants launch their kites at 11:30 a.m. professional kite flyer Con Engles of Pittsburgh will offer demonstrations for 45 minutes, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Engles is a member of the Fly Pittsburgh Kite Club and owner of Windstar Kites in Pittsburgh.
Awards and a new feature, a parade of decorated bicycles, will follow the kite flying at 12:30 p.m. People of all ages are encouraged to participate in the free event aimed at the entire family,
Prizes will be presented in various categories, including youngest kite flyer, oldest kite flyer, longest flying kite, most colorful kite, most creative kite, and best newspaper kite.

Organizers are suggesting bringing a picnic lunch for the whole family and rediscovering what Buhl Park has to offer. If you don’t feel like flying a kite, come and watch.
