Fundraisers
Hickory United Methodist Church, 240 N. Hermitage Road, next to Shenango Valley Mall, plans a good used clothing sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 1 and 9 to 11:30 a.m. May 2. Bargain $1-per-bag day is May 2.
Mercer County Master Gardeners’ annual plant sale is planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 9 at Leslie N. Firth Learning Center, U.S. Route 19, north of Mercer.
Annuals, perennials, vegetables, grasses, herbs, ornamental grasses, dwarf and ornamental conifers and trees will be available, as will garden-related items. Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions.
The Spring Hymn Sing to benefit Lakeview Area Helping Hands Inc. will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 3 at Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, 3461 Sandy Lake-New Lebanon Road, state Route 173, north of Sandy Lake.
Any church choir or individual who would like to perform is invited to register by April 28 with Sherry Reynolds at 724-376-7175, Judy Irwin at 724-253-3591, or Marilyn Griffin at 724-376-7175.
A roast beef dinner will be served from noon to 4 p.m. May 17 at Jerusalem Lodge 19 Hartford Masonic Temple, corner of State Route 305 and State Route 7.
Meal includes: roast beef, mashed potatoes, vegetable, German carrots, bread, noodles, coleslaw, beverage adn dessert.
Cost is $8 for adults; $4 for children ages 10 and younger; and children younger than age 3, are free. Takeouts available.
Hartford Fire Association along with Burghill Vernon Fire Department will be having a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the old Hartford Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, located on Hartford Five Points Road in Hartford Township.
Cost is $6 for adults; $5 for seniors; $4 for kids ages 5- to -12-years-old; and children younger than age 5 are free.
Breakfast includes pancakes, French toast, eggs and sausage, sausage gravy over biscuits, milk, orange juice coffee and tea.
Takeouts available.
The Second Annual Oral Cancer Walk is scheduled for Saturday in Buhl Farm park, Heritage. Registration fo the “Walk and Rock for Oral Cancer,” begins at 10 a.m. and walk begins at 11 a.m.
It is approximately 2.5 miles, once around the park.
