Child safety seat check planned at Mel Grata
HERMITAGE — Parents and caregivers can have their child’s car seats inspected free by certified car seat technicians and receive answers to questions about child passenger safety.
The inspection is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Mel Grata Chevrolet, 2757 E. State St., Hermitage.
Those attending should have their car seat instructions and vehicle owners manual on hand for reference.
Safe Kids of Mercer County, PennDOT, Hermitage Police Department and the Pennsylvania Traffic Injury Prevention Project are event sponsors.
Steeler to speak at Grove City College
GROVE CITY — Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Anthony Madison will speak at the annual Grove City College All-Campus Worship service from 8 to 9:15 p.m. Thursday3/27 in the Physical Learning Center Arena.
Madison plays on both special teams and defense. He joined the Steelers in 2006 after playing for the University of Alabama, where he started 37 consecutive games.
A student worship team will lead a time of singing during the service.
Westminster film series announces selections
NEW WILMINGTON — Westminster College’s Jake Erhardt International Film Series will present these three films, all at 7 p.m. in McKelvey Campus Center’s Sebastian Mueller Theater on the New Wilmington campus:
• “Once” — April 8. The 2007 Irish film was directed by John Carney.
• “La Haine” — April 15. The 1995 French film was directed by Mathieu Kassovitz.
