George and Theodora Edwards

— George and Theodora Edwards of 209 Kelly Ridge Road, Townsend, TN 37882, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 11.
Mr. Edwards and the former Theodora Richael were married Feb. 11, 1958, in Stoneboro.
Both Theodora and George graduated from Lakeview High School in 1957. Mr. Edwards is a son of Gordon and Erna Edwards, late of Stoneboro; and his wife is a daughter of Lester and Jane Richael, also late of Stoneboro.
In honor of their anniversary, the Edwardses’ daughter, Dana Edwards of Atlanta, Ga., hosted a surprise gathering Feb. 11 in the Smoky Mountains. The weeklong celebration included a candlelight dinner for the honored couple. They also went sightseeing in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and took a trip to an antique train museum.
Several area relatives of the couple attended the celebration, including: George’s brother, Walter Edwards; Theodora’s great-aunts, Sue Kopta, and Rose Richael, all of Stoneboro. Also in attendance were Theodora’s sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Mark Ostrander of Meadville.
The Edwardses now live in the Laurel Valley community of Townsend, Tenn.
